• How it is used – Be specific about what you authorize, including licensing your text for AI training. The Authors Guild recommends retaining full approval rights over AI licensing—IF you choose to grant them.
• Who owns the resulting material? – Always clarify ownership (preferably yours) of the book manuscript, cover art, and any new material created from or for your book. Do not assume that a single ownership statement resolves every deliverable; specify what may be reproduced, modified, distributed, and reused.
